Inspection scope is agreed per project and confirmed in your quotation. This page describes how that works, who does what, and what happens when a part does not meet the agreed specification.

How Inspection Scope Is Agreed

Inspection scope is not a fixed package. It is set per project, and it is set from your drawing.

  1. You identify critical characteristics.
    On your drawing, mark which dimensions and features determine whether the part works.
  2. Manufacturability review checks that they are measurable.
    A tolerance on a feature that cannot practically be measured functions as an expectation rather than a specification. Where something you have marked critical cannot be reliably verified, you hear about it before quotation — rather than after a batch is made.
  3. The agreed scope goes into the quotation.
    Your quotation states which characteristics are measured and what documentation is included. Where a requirement cannot be confirmed, the quotation says so rather than assuming it.
  4. The scope is what gets reviewed.
    Measurement records are reviewed against the agreed characteristics at the approved drawing revision.

How to mark critical dimensions in your drawing

Revision Control

Each project is managed against a defined project reference, drawing filename and approved drawing revision. Against that reference we record:

  • Drawing filename
  • Drawing revision
  • Approved quotation revision
  • Production revision

The approved production file is identified before the purchase order is released. In practical terms: there is no ambiguity about which version of your design was manufactured, and a question about a part from three months ago has a definite answer.

This becomes particularly useful when a design has passed through several revisions and a later question needs to be traced back to the version actually produced.

  • No tolerance, roughness, or feature-size figures are published on this site. Achievable values depend on geometry, material and manufacturing route, and are confirmed during manufacturability review for your specific part.
  • Leak and pressure testing is not offered as a standing capability. If your project requires it, raise it in the RFQ so feasibility can be reviewed.
  • Yeda does not independently re-measure every dimension. Our role is review of the partner-provided records against your agreed requirements.
  • No certifications are claimed. V1 is intended for research and product-development projects. Yeda does not represent itself as an ISO 13485-certified manufacturer, does not operate a cleanroom, and does not make clinical-use or medical-device compliance claims for the service.

Leak test method, equipment and pressure capability remain unconfirmed. This section must not be expanded before they are.
